This is where things tend to get weird.

Never let your pitcher throw against you.

Intruder, My Dream (2024)

Last night I had a dream that we were having a house party kind of, but with family, and this older guy I didn’t recognize was there. He had some vendetta against me for some reason and later, I saw him with a gun. I was very uncomfortable and told Sheila about him in passing, but it didn’t seem to be urgent or anything, oddly. After everyone had either left or passed out, I looked for him but didn’t find him. Then, I guess I had fallen asleep and dreamt about him sitting in my computer chair and I was like “There he is!!” but then I woke up and I was like, “Phew, it was just a dream.” Then I told Sheila and she was like, “Wow…” then she said the food was here that she ordered on DoorDash or something and went out to get it and I went looking for him again. He was in the guest room in the closet that was like the closet in our hallway and he was hiding. When I saw him I remember thinking how badly we needed to get a gun, why don’t we have a gun yet? He flashed his gun again and I asked him why he was doing this and he said, “Never let your pitcher throw against you.” Then he grabbed me by the throat. I was trying to call out to Sheila and thought about throwing my phone out of the window to get her attention, but then I thought I’d be without my phone, so I couldn’t do that. I tried to wave my phone out the window for her to see and somehow I got away, I can’t remember what happened exactly. He was coming after me and I heard Sheila outside talking to her parents, I guess, so I hit the guy with this very heavy glass jar, something similar to the case the rose was encased in Beauty & the Beast. He ran down the hallway somewhere and I closed the front door quickly with all of us outside to keep him from attacking everyone. I felt relief because I thought her dad would help me fight him off. I tried to open the door but it felt locked at first then it opened and I knew the intruder was right there. Her dad was opening his phone so I yelled, “Call the cops! Wtf?” But he wasn’t even trying to, it was like it wasn’t a thought then he was like, “Oh! But he put his phone down with the keypad up to let Sheila dial and call and I screamed, “SOMEONE CALL 911!!!” while I went back in to fight him again.

I woke up at 5:45 this morning and couldn’t sleep so I stayed up for an hour. I woke up again at 8:30 and wrote this dream before I forgot it.

Such a weird quote, especially because I don’t watch sports and no one in my close family does either.
